Born in Monterrey, Mexico; Laura initiated her art studies at the University of North Carolina. Later she continued her work in New York City at The New York School of Visual Arts and the Art Students’ League. She is now finishing a Master’s Degree in Analysis and Management of Contemporary Art at The Universidad de Barcelona IL-3.
She has studied under artists such as Larry Poons, William Scharf and Jaime Ferrer. She resides between Miami and Monterrey, Mx; and has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Mexico and the United States. In 2005 she presented the show “Trans-lucid” at the Instituto Cultural de Mexico en Miami under the auspice of the Mexican Consulate. In February 2008 she showcased her work titled “Lucha Libre” at a solo show in Monterrey, Mexico.
She was selected to participate in ArteAmericas 2009 and 2010 as part of the Mexican Pavilion in Miami, FL. and through GDS Gallery in Miami and Cuernavaca, Mx.
Her most recent proyects include a series of paintings based on the Miami street graffiti and advertising scene where she seeks to point out the difference between an analog perception of the human world versus a digital one.
